It depends on account size. In SociaVault's 2026 benchmark the median is 3.42% for accounts with 1K-10K followers, 2.15% for 10K-50K, 1.53% for 50K-100K, 1.12% for 100K-500K and 0.81% above 500K. Brand accounts average 0.45% per post (Socialinsider, 2026).
What is a good engagement rate on TikTok?
TikTok rates run higher than Instagram. SociaVault's 2026 medians are 7.84% for 1K-10K followers, 5.21% for 10K-50K, 3.89% for 50K-100K, 2.73% for 100K-500K and 1.84% above 500K. Brand accounts average about 2.6% per post (Socialinsider, 2026).
How is engagement rate calculated?
Add up the interactions on your recent posts, divide by the number of posts, divide by your followers and multiply by 100. Instagram counts likes and comments; TikTok likes, comments and shares; Facebook reactions, comments and shares; X likes and reposts.
Why does engagement rate fall as an account grows?
Larger audiences include more people who follow but rarely interact, so interactions grow more slowly than followers. That is why this calculator compares you with accounts of the same size, not with one average for everyone.
